The week of January 18-22 we had some big storms come through. They left alternating episodes of rain, snow, rain, snow.... We must have had a foot of snow throughout the week - but only a couple of inches at a time would accumulate (at our house, anyway) before the next rain or a little bit of sunshine would melt it all away. It was sort of like "lather, rinse, repeat...." The storms caused the schools to close for two days. On Friday we ventured out to take a look at the snow. We threw a sled in the car just in case we found a good hill.
Glassford Hill (a.k.a., Mt. Baldy) near our house
Braving the cold at the Watson Lake overlook
Watson Lake / Glassford Hill - We live on the other side of this hill.
Watson Lake / Granite Dells
Downtown Prescott / Yavapai County Courthouse
Downtown Prescott / Thumb Butte / Heavy equipment clearing the streets of snow
We found a sledding hill southwest of Prescott on White Spar Road.
The snow was deep and wet - good for snowballs!
We explored a little further down the road but didn't find any more sledding hills.
We headed home when it looked like another storm was approaching.
